Zelenka we certainly don't hear enough of, the Missa Votiva is an exceptionally fine work.

One advantage of this board for untutored enthusiasts such as me is to be pointed down less well-trodden paths which are worth exploring.

Wow! Just finished listening to 'Weapon Of Choice'.

Would have loved to have been at that gig!

        Now listening to 'HELLO".

        Many thanks for posting, ferney.

I enjoyed that video that oversoul recommend and I will return to Zelenka.

Btw, your symphonic journey was mainly off the beaten track - at least it seemed that way to me.

I went a bit mad on Zelenka two summers ago (that heatwave!) and bought most of the Nibiru releases featured here...

Tiny specialist label, utterly devoted team, beautiful, elegant and impassioned recordings... The cream of the crop for this one!

                Zelenka is new to me.

Currently having my mind blown by the music on that link that ferney gave for Alexander Schubert!!!!!!!!

Good set of the orchestral music, HIPPS style, or there's...

Tricky choice, the latter is a little big and Romantic but with better dialoguing between instrumentalists, bit of a classic set really (led by Zelenka-nut Heinz Holliger, no bad thing!)
There's an amazing piece called "Hippochondrie"....for 8 players...

CPO is such a great label.

Yes, I rate Archiv (but it wasn't there when I looked!).

Selena has been part of my collection for over 20 years, since the great Camerata Bern set. It is kind of strange to see him bandied about as a new discovery here.

Your efforts are certainly appreciated by me SC.
So much previously less well known music has now become essential listening here, the likes of Weinberg,Ivanovs,Piston etc.
Your symphonic journey and recent posts are reference points for me.
                              Many thanks.
