Dora Pejačević (1885 –1923).
Croatian composer, produced quite a list of works in her short life.
I listened to :-
Symphony in F# Minor
Cello Sonata oin E Minor
Late Romantic in style, plenty of Brahms influence, enjoyable but not a composer I will return to very often.
The Sonata is the more interesting piece IMO.

From the very start I was reminded of Schumann's Piano Quintet.

Ofrf the Beaten Trackians (especially those of a "Neglected Brits" persuasion) who can get to Highbury and Islington tube station this weekend may be interested in this:
... the first time the entire work has been performed in Britain since 1984.
I believe there are still some tickets still available ... for the whole thing or selections of your choice.Numquam Satis!

IMV Cardew's music (and The Great Learning in particular) suffers from being badly performed (a subject for discussion with reference to the apple opera?). But, from what folks in it have been saying, this looks like it's worth going to see/hear.......
How many pieces do you know that open with organ and stones?

Not quite true re. complete performances in Britain since 1984. I know of at least three others, in Sheffield, East London and Bath. There may have been several others. This is, however, the first complete performance in the Union Chapel since 1984 (where I believe it received its first complete UK performance), and since 1984 the Henry Willis organ has been thoroughly refurbished, lending it renewed clarity and vigour. Though it will be electrically pumped this weekend, it is the last remaining Willis organ with working hydraulic pumping facility. These days the 'waste' water is recycled, rather than being pumped out into the street as was originally the case.
The work is for both trained and untrained musicians, so anyone feeling like participating (mainly, though not exclusively by voice) should present themselves at the Union Chapel at 1.30 pm Saturday for rehearsals of the the first 4 sections of the work. Don't get there too early, there is a wedding scheduled for just before the rehearsals.
Singers with strong voices and large lung capacity especially welcome. Relevant copies of the score will be available at the rehearsals.
More info re. the work and the performance here. There is a hiatus of nearly a minute at the start of the Mixcloud file before Carole Chant's introduction cuts in.
