    !! Latest schedule changes !!

I've been told that the following changes to the evening schedules, following the new concert start time, have been announced in BBCMM:

1630 - 1830 In Tune (what about CE??)
    1830 - 1930 Composer of the Week ( repeat )
    1930 - 2200 Performance on 3 concert
    2200 - 2245 Night Waves / Verb
    2245 - 2300 The Essay
    2300 - 0100 Late Junction etc

The Sunday afternoon request programme is dropped in favour of a concert.

    Good, bad, other thoughts?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

CotW during lunch time and during dinner time. I doubt whether that is wise.

But at least it's within reach of those of us who are working. The evening slot is most welcome.

I think that's quite a good time to repeat Composer of the Week- I often miss it at midday because I'm out and about doing bits and bobs at that time. 6:30 fits nicely into the evening, I think.

And thank goodness they've got rid of that Sunday Afternoon request programme, which, barring adverts, was pretty much indistinguishable from Classic FM.

If they were to revert to having a week's (at least) gap between the repeats it would be better. I always thought shoving in an extra prog before the concert would be a good idea. I imagine In Tune will start at 5pm on Wednesdays - hope they don't try to mess about with the cathedrals' arrangements.

I am glad to see that The Essay has survived

Edit: And, on second thoughts, I don't think perhaps lunch and teatime will hit the same audience anyway. Could work.

At the present time most of us are able to listen. I never switch on the 5-7pm programmes as I don't want to have musical wallpaper at the background. But this is different in that sense, that it might be very informative and that lesser known (if at all) music is broadcast. Therefore the 10pm slot is IMO favourable.

The scheduling of the CotW repeat obviously causes a headache. It's been late night, slap in the middle of the evening, in between the two - and now early evening. A bit trial and error to see how it's received, I suppose.

10.00 p.m. is too late for me. I like an early night when work beckons in the morning. So 6.30 is great.

I'd agree that CotW at 6:30pm is a pretty good time for the repeat. What's important here is the move to 7:30pm for Performance on 3. Regarding earlier in the afternoon, I was surveyed recently on a change of name for the Afternoon on 3 slot, so changes afoot there too.

I've just had it confirmed that In Tune will begin at 5pm on Wednesdays. La, la, la, am51 - CE has a huge following. It's the messageboard here which the BBC seems to follow most closely!

Thumbs up from me as well for the CotW repeat at 6.30pm.
