    yes indeed a fine version

I have two versions, Richard Goode piano and Igor Kipnis, harpsichord. I much prefer Bach on the piano, so I don't think that I have spun the Kipnis for a few years.

Just listened to the Gould for, shamefully, the first time in a long time and minor magic......

I love Anderszewski too. Above all, Argerich in the C minor, and lots of people in the first, B flat one, which pianists seem to love in particular: Lipatti, Gould, Tureck, Anderszewski. I think the latter gives a great performance of the E minor also.

Igor Levitt's recent set gives me a lot of pleasure too. And nice to hear young Benjamin Grosvenor completely absorbed in the D major, in concert and on disc.

I've just remembered...Christophe Rousset did a nice recording of the Partitas, too.

These bring nostalgic memories...my school friend, now dead, used to let me sit and listen while she practised them.

Yes, on a harpsichord with an especially lovely tone. Years ago it won the prize in a BAL on the Partitas.

Lipatti's performance of the First Partita is the record to play to anyone who says they do not like Bach on the piano . One of the very greatest Bach records of all time .
