For fans of Schubert or Dylan

Found an interesting music blog today with links to some contrasting interpretations of Franz and Bob - (also to G. Gould unexpectedly playing the Emperor Concerto).

Shelter from the Storm is one of my favourite songs by either of those two geniuses.

Thanks for this gurnemanz - fascinating. I just wonder if they're (as the blogger implies) in the same category? The Schubert Impromptus are recognisably interpretations of the original piece, whereas Mr D's can be complete re-workings, of speed, rhythm, tune, just about everything except the words and the title? I wonder if it's the same process.

The only time I heard Dylan live (in 1984) he opened with Highway 61 - same pounding rhythm as on the "Before the Flood" version with the Band, but quite different to the studio version on "H61 Revisited". "Maggie's Farm" got similar treatment.
