    Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Peter Katin! 84 today.

I shall listen again to that lovely Grieg recital recorded by Olympia in Norway and superb!

Thanks for all your wisdom on these boards!

Seconded! I have several recordings on LP by Peter Katin, including one of the piano concerto in D flat by Khatchaturian, which I havent played for ages. I cant remember a note of it, so tonight I'll get it out and play it.

... I suspect there might be a D flat in it

Happy Birthday to you, Mr Katin.

It was your recording of Tchaikovsky's PC No 1 which introduced me to this work, way when I was a young teenagers in the early 70s. I still have it. It is very good.

I too have several recordings by Peter Katin, incl. Mendelssohn PCs. It was his recording (Olympia) of the Liszt Dante Sonata which introduced me to that work - for which many thanks.

            Happy Birthday, Mr Katin.

As it is also the key in which Tchaikovsky's 1st PC starts

Many happy returns, Mr.Katin (and, btw, it's Beethoven's most likely birthday today too)
