Try the 4th symphony, which has an opening theme straight from the steppes, and the 5th, which just predates Rachmaninov's 1st and which, to my ears, influences it. I sometimes wonder if Glazunov was flattered or annoyed when he conducted the first performance of the latter.

I cannot decipher the second set of *s. Many words fit, none that make sense.

Both very good.
The Fedoseyev is a bit rough recording wise - but it has a dynamic quality which more than compensates. Also look out for Yondani Butt.
