Wonderful recording that!

I also rather like baroque chamber music being played, and also Purcell Theatre Music, is also a good dinner music. There's also a recording that Chandos does, dedicated for dinners.

Do you want them to stay or go?

If you want them to stay, anything by Mr Ding Dong, Avo Part, or J Taverner the younger. Trouble is you won't get rid of them at all- they will be comatose within five mins.

If you don't want them to outstay their welcome, anything by Glass, Adams, Reich should do the trick. Probably wouldn't even stay for "afters".

Depends what the meal is. For example,if it's fish the Trout quintet maybe. Or for lamb, how about Where Sheep May Safely Graze. And if it's a pie and mash you could try the music from Sweeney Todd.
