And I thought it was going to be about FOI requests TO the BBC ...
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
Thanks! Italy was great the first week, the second...the weather was a bit like here now. With the bonus of the mosquitos!
I enjoyed a visit to the Vivaldi museum in Venice, met the director Robert De Pieri and had a lovely chat about CDs, labels etc... He recommended Richter's Four Seasons, DG I think. Anybody knows that album?

Hiya cocolinmichela,
I'm so glad you enjoyed your holiday. He can't mean Karl Richter of the Munich Bach Choir fame. He must mean Max Richter with the Recomposed Vivaldi's Four Seasons - Tito Muñoz/Daniel Hope/Ensemble LPR :

I used to be a fairly regular visitor but finding my time is being taken over by discussions on Facebook - I have always relished the discussion and debate here and, when I retire and have more time in the not too distant future, I will no doubt re-emerge but at the moment I enjoy the immediacy of Facebook. Good to pop back from time to time though and hope you don't mind my rather sporadic appearances - you can be sure though that if there is another folk or world music prom I will be here to defend it :-)

I must admit that I also like dipping in and out of Facebook and appreciate the immediacy of Twitter. I find that receiving notifications of incoming messages/posts on the above mentioned websites helps a lot. Here I need to keep looking at the last page to see if someone has replied. :) If anybody knows of a good group or forum page on FB, could you please let me know? My FB username is Michela Cocolin. Thanks!

And to you. And to Coco.
We (FoR3) have a Facebook page, but when this was mooted here some months back there was a definite 'anti' feeling about using Facebook. I share it, but as a campaigning group we get to a different group of people - and Facebook attracts more attention that the main FoR3 website.
But I don't like it and I'm a rotten 'friend' because I don't go round looking at other people's pages and liking their pictures or inviting them to things . As far as Radio 3 is concerned, this is where it's at for me because most of the discussion is focused on R3 or "things R3-ish", rather than on people as individuals.

lets hope that you have the chance to do that.
In the meantime, with hat tipped in the direction of the wise folks on the world music sub forum, I might start a Folk/world/roots thread on "talking about music",for part time folkies and occasional worldies like me !!
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
My cousin Keith got involved with Facebook and couldn't leave it quickly enough.
Who wants all those details of people's lives, R3 Forum for me thanks ff.
Agreed entirely; I wouldn't touch Facepole with a bargebook. I know that it can be a useful means of publicising if used sparingly but I'd far rather steer well clear of it and let others get on with that.

I agree , and ROFL, as they say on spybook.
