    Where is everyone?

I've noticed that over the last 3 or 4 months or so, there has been a marked dropped in activity on these revered boards. It seems that even posts that would hitherto have attracted much debate and banter, and so on, sit there for sometimes a few weeks with no additional comment....

What is going on? Gone are the days when I could login, and within minutes much stimulating discussion would ensue. It is as if the whole shebang has stagnated..... :(

Kind of know what you mean. But then I don't post as often as I used to and I'm not sure why.

I made a potentially inflammatory comment on the Halle's Eroica last night yet not a single comment on that performance since.

I think perhaps the proliferation of Prom threads has swamped much else. It now seems a bit of a chore to go down the list and find other subjects.

Perhaps things will improve after the season?

Posting has fallen off a bit since the beginning of the year. Fewer controversies?

There never seems much rhyme or reason to the posting stats.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I rather think that this is due to the more controversial posters having been driven off. A club where all the members agree with each other can indeed stagnate.

Not naming any names as to who has been driven off or done the driving off but I'm sure that most can fill in the blanks.

The recent long spell of dry, hot weather maybe kept people in the garden, at the beach etc...?

Perhaps we need an inflammatory thread eg: Mahler's music is rubbish or Michael Gove is the best Education Secretary ever

I guess so much has got boring and repetitive. I post less nowadays.
