If you were going to perform Kodaly's "Hary Janos" suite, your first words were always "see if John Leach is free."

A master of the cimbalom. An expert on East European music.

A fine composer in his own right.

Above all, a fine companion and raconteur.

And his film work - he'll've been heard by everyone who's seen The Ipcress Files or You Only Live Twice. Excellent stuff.
