Toradze and Gergiev recorded all five.

Of course, all are dwarfed by the wonderful Prokofiev second concerto under the incandescent Mr. Jascha Heifetz. The second movt. Is some of the most glorious violin playing ever committed to disc.

Couldn't agree more .......absolutely wonderful .....

Entering a little late into the lists as usual, I'd recommend The Cleveland Orchestra/Maazel or LSO/Previn in the complete Romeo and Juliet. Both are superb and given very fine sound. For R&J highlights, I have the Berlin PO under Salonen and Abbado in two excellent discs from Sony and DG respectively.

I concur with others on here in extolling the virtues of the Malko/Philharmonia Symphonies 1 & 7 as well as Ashkenazy/LSO/Previn in the Piano Concertos. I've never heard, or indeed heard of, the 5th Symphony with George Szell and the Clevelanders so will look this one up in a moment. The Karajan 1 & 5 should be I every Prokofiev collection.

Chung and Previn (again) are wonderful in the Violin Concertos and the Abbado Kije and Nevsky disc is excellent.

The Salonen disc is indeed very good, however my favourite R&J excerpts come from Levi and the Cleveland Orchestra on Telarc - worth seeking out.

Agree with the many votes in favour of Karajan 1 & 5, Malko 1 & 7, Heifetz VC2, Abbado Nevsky, Maazel complete R&J.

My favourite piano concerto performance is Gavrilov in no.1: awe-inspiring. Used to be available on a budget EMI label (Encore?), but I think since deleted, sadly.
