    Max and Harry...

Is anyone listening to these composers talking about their lives and feelings on 'Music matters'? Very interesting.

Yes - fascinating - some plain speaking.

    I cross-posted a separate thread which I'll now delete!

And surely some rather opaque speaking about their famous parting and their current regard for each other, personally and musically?
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

(One might imagine that the " hairy Cornflake" look might not be so fashionable these days though..)

Well, yes - but these are very private matters, and they are a pair of Lancastrians (a culture where reticence and understatement is an eloquent language); they're not going to do a Jeremy Kyle interview. I think their tone of voice and the way they spoke to and of each other spoke more of their genuine affection for each other than what they said.

And, credit due; the hairy cornflake done good today - none of his usual ten-minute long questions; polite but tenacious questioning, not letting anyone get away with a glib response. (And taking Harry's reposts on the chin: "What d'you mean, 'useful'?", and that silence after the "well, useful to society, educational ... ": again what is not said making HB's position and opinion far clearer than any words could. Top Service.

fhg: I wasn't meaning that it was perfectly obvious what was being left unsaid, just that there was plenty of scope for different readings.
