    Andrea Pirlo!!!!!!!!

    Another masterclass!

At 35 (has been signed on a further 2 years at Juventus!!), he's still the best midfielder on the planet.

nice choice of Italian song though Beefs.
        The latter I can respect.

For France, and also for this Rameau anniversary year, one of his most celebratory, festive pieces:

In honour of Maestro Andrea Pirlo's performance last night, I'm posting an update on PFM's 'Impressioni Di Settembre' by the amazing Giacomo Voli.

I wish Nigeria played to Fela's beat rather than the dead-beat fashion of last evening...

Fela Anikulapo Kuti & Egypt 80 performing Pansa Pansa. This is a slightly different arrangement from the one performed at the 1978 Jazz Festival in Berlin.

... no, very English. But I delight in English defeats - except against the French, of course.

I can't speak for Vints but my own take would be that it is an intelligent reaction against the infantile mentality of defining one's sense of national identity through the (non) performance of a bunch of overpaid preening prima donnas playing a dismally tedious game which has been hijacked by a global media conspiracy got about solely to market their invariably shoddy and unnecessary wares.
