Concerto in d minor for Three Harpsichords, BWV 106.3
Apologies for the late arrival of this Post - I think that there must have been problems with the AoB website earlier; it just wouldn't load. No problems now, so here is the brand-new video (recorded in October 2017) of this octet performance of this marvellous work.
Marvellous as usual. Funny you should say 'octet'. I had been thinking in terms of a quintet with three harpsichords (ThrEE!) and I think I I paid special attention to the strings. If I had not had the video I think I would have heard a concerto - keyboards and a good orchestra.
I think I'm saying how much video adds to listening - certainly these videos for me.
For once there was little of sparkle in this piece for me. The notes, too, especially the third paragraph, were not helpful. I gave it a couple of goes. Sorry.
The organist is Wolfgang Zerer, playing on the Organ of St Catherine's Church in Hamberg - a "repeat" from 2015 (recorded in October, 2014), but no less welcome.

A brand-new video today of one of Bach's most famous works, the Cantata BWV 140, Wachet Auf - Jos van Veldhoven directing the Netherlands Bach Society, in a performance recorded13 months ago in the Walloon Church in Amsterdam.
