    Andrei Gavrilov in Bristol

Anyone heard about Andrei Gavrilov's double piano concerto concert in Bristol next Sunday? Tchaikovsky 1 and Rachmaninov 3 at the Colston Hall with no conductor. Gavrilov is conducting from the piano. A huge undertaking doing two concertos in one concert, even with a conductor, one would think.

Goodness - I had an email from CH yesterday and fixed on the BSO/Karabits Brahms concerts this weekend (Sat and Sun) but didn't spot the Gavrilov in the sidebar. Mmm, quite a coup for the Bristol Ensemble.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I'll bet the leader of the orchestra is dreading this one...
