It was a while ago that I was given a ticket to the recording of a Monty Python LP (Bollard, Lumberjack, Parrot etc.) by a member of the Fred Tomlinson Singers, the group who added musical volume to Monty as well as the Two Ronnies. I already knew that my source, Mark Brown, was a founder member of Pro Cantione Antiqua but thought no more of that until today, when, in an unexpected hiatus of 30 odd minutes, waiting for Devizes tip to re-open, I perused some LPs that had been gifted to me a few days earlier and one in particular; "Curlew, Peter Warlock, Haffner Quartet, James Griffett..."revealed that a Fred Tomlinson who is a vice-president of the Peter Warlock society, arranged some of the songs and that Mark Brown had produced the disc. So either there are two Fred Tomlinsons in Mark's life or we have an incredibly versatile contributor to the musical life of the nation!! Any Ideas??
