Will the post of Director of the Proms still be wrapped up in the Controller of R3, or will there be two new appointments, I wonder?

Quite a lot to thrust on one person at the same time. Certainly unprecedented in recent years. Roger had already (I think) been holding both posts longer than anyone else.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Either way Clemmy B-H should have at least one of 'em.

Well, ff / SS, you’ve done it. You’ve kicked him out. Well done ().

Seriously, once the vice is removed, the blind opened, and the air let in, I hope everyone (or most people) at Radio3 will remember what they are there for.
Amen to that. In fact, would I be naive to shout HOORAY!? Isn't there some sort of cyber banner we could hang out over The Forum?

I'm speechless - I no longer know Wright from wrong.

I live in hope - is that right or wrong?

I've been ill following a breakdown a few weeks ago, but this piece of news has at least cheered me up. The biggest disaster in R3's history is finally going, but I do fear that the immense damage his regime has done to the station is probably now beyond repair. I now also fear for Aldeburgh Music, I suppose there will be Dr Who Aldeburgh Proms, and Aldeburgh Festival of Film Music. Once the Aldeburgh Festival has been wrecked, I wonder what's next on his list?

Interesting idea. Her current position is a temporary one and ... Radio 3 has never had a woman controller. The only other network station sharing that honour is Radio 1.

They could keep it in the family and appoint no nonsense, brilliant musician and no-dumbing-down brother Simon.

If they did, I'd be more than happy.

sc, we've missed this with all the excitement. I do hope you're recovering and it wasn't too serious. I noticed that you had been absent for a few days. Welcome back!

                                An obvious shortlist:
                                Lady Gaga
                                Sean Rafferty
                                BUT
given it will have to be a woman

                                Jude Kelly [ serious tip]

Or, of course, might be SM-P. Loves tweeting and texting, top requisites for R3 Controller, knows all about music, nice telephone voice?
