Not a huge fan of her myself, but for the benefit of anybody who doesn't know her work at all, this is just class.

don't think I'll shell out £49 plus booking fee minimum though..........
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

I am not a number, I am a free man.

That's on a par with another posters claim that in spite of being passionate about music for over 40 years and avidly reading the media they had "never heard" of Metallica

I find it hard to believe that someone who is as intensely interested in music as Pet has no idea who Kate Bush is ?

Knowing about something isn't the same a liking it

Dream of sheep tis a fine ditty IMV

I took the 'Who?' comment as an ironic one.

I think the whole world and his missus were talking about Kate Bush last Friday and over the weekend.

Are two Messiaens in the Cage worth one in the Bush?

Now that the dust of feverish and hysterical opening night has settled down, a more pondered review of the (second) show from Uncut.

                      HiyA Radio64,

Errrrrrrrrrr, now let me think. She has either run out of money or wants to promote her son Bertie as a performer. The sycophantic reviews have been nauseating including the one I heard last night on Radio4.

                        Hi Stan!

                        great word that "sycophantic"!
Yes, but in fact I thought the Uncut review was good in that it was fairly objective without being....sycophantic!

I went last night. It was one of the best musical events (you can't call it a gig or concert) I've ever been to. The point about her son is a good one tbf, but she credits him as the catalyst in her 'return' to live performance. The show is a real piece of musical theatre - though emphatically not a 'musical' - and quite unlike anything else you will see from an artist of her generation, or indeed any other. I hope it stimulates discussion far beyond narrow hipster circles.

Bertie is a mate (schoolchum) of my godson, and is a good man by all accounts, and the two boys sang together on her latest album (of which I proudly have a signed, dedicated copy - quite a rare thing, apparently, as she's not a signer). The godson went to the show I believe, have yet to get reports.
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

All the folks I know who have been to this (some of whom folks might know also as a couple of their names crop up from time to time) have raved about how fantastic this was.
