Mahlerei, wait! This album is on special offer at eclassical.com for only $8.50 for the 24/44.1 file! - I bought it, just begun to listen to it and it sounds gorgeous! Even their standard prices are amazing.

HD, have you found a way of downloading 24-bit files from Qobuz whilst in the UK? Still seems prohibited on the site...Originally posted by HighlandDougie View PostI know what you mean about greed - I had to restrain myself but I thought that €24 was not a lot to spend on 24/96 versions of the recent Paul Lewis 2CD set (2 for the price of 1 - a classy BOGOF, I suppose) Schubert Sonatas/Impromptus, the Grosvenor recital (which I think is just great) and the Alexander Melnikov/Isabelle Faust Shostakovich Concertos/Sonata, plus the Debussy 4 hands 2 pianos set from Philippe Cassard and Francois Chaplin. Admittedly, with my slow ADSL connection and it being the weekend, it took the whole afternoon to download all of that (maybe it's just as well I don't have superfast broadband or there would be a terrible temptation to go mad buying 24/96 stuff). For me, one of the great things about Qobuz, apart from the whole choice of formats/downloading being made really easy and the breadth of what they have on offer, is that you can go back later and download stuff again which for me means that I can download here in france and then go back to Scotland and do the same thing. Not like Amazon or i-Tunes where their advice that, "you can burn it onto a CD then use it where you like", seems to me like an excuse for them to save money.

Good question - I'm in France so will check whether I can still access 24/96 files when I return to Scotland next week. My IP address is, of course, French when I'm here, although everything else in my account is UK-based. In one of the Q and As in the qobuz website, there is a reference to not all material being available in all countries, due to individual labels and their restrictions/copyright etc etc, but that they are always trying to persuade labels to adopt an open approach. As DJ suggests, it would be worth e-mailing them as they've always been helpful when I've had the odd problem. I feel guilty now for making what must be tantalising references.

From memory the message that pops up asks you to contact them if you really are in France (or overseas French protectorate) or if you have a way of paying using a French bank. So perhaps it's a payment issue?
Like others I'm interested in the Grosvener album. I have some friends in France who may be able to help me.Steve
