    Cheaper on Amazon, BTW.
One item which caught my eye is:

"New War Requiem hi-res transfer from original master tapes"

I wonder whether there's a faint chance high resolution files are being included, or whether this is marketing-speak and the War Requiem is simply being re-released on CD in another remastering.

The version in the Decca Sound box is pretty good, IIRC. I would expect it to be essentially the same.

This Michelangeli Mozart reissue seems to be rather special. Tempted.

My first Ring cycle arrived today - the Janowski version - in this sumptuous new edition, all for under £30.

Libretti booklets seem very well-bound; my Tristan und Isolde (DG) dissipated into pages at the first read through.

If that doesn't tempt a man to Wagner, nothing will.

                    Or the unemployed.

(Cloughie's right, though - I expect I'll be burning the midnight oil with the headphones on in the coming week(s).)

The two-CD set of Haydn String quartets op 33 on Analekta by the Eybler Quartet has received a warmly enthusiastic review in the May 2013 edition of International Record Review (by Mortimer H. Frank).

The members of the Eybler Quartet are also members of Tafelmusik and play on period intruments in an appropriate vibrato-lite style.

Has anyone taken the plunge and is prepared to offer an opinion? Otherwise I may need to be first

Tempting, but with the Mosaiques and Festetics already on my shelves, and the London Haydn Quartet's recording on order and due in 2 to 3 weeks, I think I will wait.
