This has appeared in amazon.fr
but not in amazon.uk or.de or.com or.it or .es - and nor for that matter on the KCO/RCO website.
I've no idea of its contents but I've ordered it anyway, although I'm sure that I'll get one of those e-mails from Amazon telling me that, alas, its release has been delayed. For RCO fans, the previous 6 boxes are supposed to be being re-released next year as part of their 125th celebrations in one bumper box. And for all of us who can never have enough of him, their recent Mahler cycle is about to be released on DVD/Blu-ray in the UK:
but is already available, certainly in France (and it's cheaper - unusual for DVD/Blu-ray).Last edited by HighlandDougie; 14-11-12, 16:38.

It's also odd that it hasn't been released in the UK yet, as I distinctly recall seeing it advertised in a Barbican programme back in April!
I also think that I might have seen it in a Barbican programme but, anyway, here's a couple of pictures:
The Anthology box (so far found only on Amazon France) is Volume 7 of their ongoing 'Anthology of ...' series on CD, although, just to confuse matters, I think that it might contain the Luisi DLvdE.

The box of DVDs/Blu-rays comes from the Concertgebouw's 2009 - 2011 cycle of all the Mahler symphonies, plus Das Lied (Fabio Luisi) and was released in the Netherlands in early October. The Jansons 2nd and 3rd in the box will be the same as the already released SACDs, I assume. I don't think that any of the rest have been released but I may be wrong about that.

By the way, the cost of ordering from http://www.bol.com/nl/p/koninklijk-c...2004012973058/ is approximately £53.76 including p&p to the U.K. That's rather easier on the credit card than the amazon.co.uk price. Oh, and the set has already been released in Holland, so it should get here somewhat quicker too.

Fans of Celibidache's Bruckner will be pleased to see that this is now available in the UK (was previously available as an import)
It contains DVDs of 6-8 but apparently the highlight is an audio-only CD of a live 4th with the MPO from Vienna which is allegedly better (and even s-l-o-w-e-r than the EMI recording from Munich)
Can't wait!!!!!

Richter playing Beethoven on ICA Classics.
I've just given Sonata No.3 and the bagatelles an airing on Qobuz...an electric performance in reasonable sound. Time for the Hammerklavier.
I also see there's a live Richter Diabelli Variations out, too (on Praga):

More on the above-mentioned ICA disc featuring Richter at the RFH in 1975: http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2012...-piano-review1 I wonder if any forum members were there that day?
The talk about the encore he played is fascinating. I'll set aside time to listen to this Hammerklavier today.
