and already having the symphony, concerto and sonata, etc. complement of the Warner box, I am not in the market for it. The DG/Decca box is more complicated. Not only is it more complete, including a few recordings made specifically for the release, it also comes with what appears to be some potentially worthwhile documentation. Still a great deal of duplication, however, so I will probably refain from purchasing either set.

Georges Solchany unfamiliar to me & seem to recall the Artemis quartets well reviewed. Good price too. Who will buy both?!

But you must make space for the lovely CD which Richd: Barrett commended here recently :

I’ve sought out on Qobuz and loaded up all the cpo recordings (Grand Concertos for mixed instruments, and the wind concertos) and that Darmstadt/Ambassadeurs disc (which is playing as I type) - they are exactly what the doctor ordered at the moment (house in mayhem due to renovations, Telemann drowning out the sounds of drilling and sanding).
Hours of treats & discoveries, real mental renovation

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

At the risk of appearing dizzy, what does Columbia signify in this context?
Who owned that label?
