Looks interesting.....
Listen to unlimited or download Sibelius : Complete Symphonies by Paavo Järvi in Hi-Res quality on Qobuz. Subscription from £10.83/month.
But....
Paavo Järvi brings deep knowledge and affinity to this music, but the results don’t generate the thrills they should
Most of the Immerseel Mozart Concerti are on Qobuz separately. Listening to No.18 (i), then the Brautigam/Willens, I found the latter a little fresher, livelier and with more light & shade of instrumental texture; Brautigam more individually characterful; and I preferred the smaller orchestra on BIS too. Only one concerto of course, but in direct comparison the larger-scale Eterna/Immerseel, while enjoyable, sounded just a shade generalised....Last edited by jayne lee wilson; 18-01-19, 04:06.

For Haitink fans who can access a Blu Ray player, two boxes of note for release in early March:
and
The price of the Bruckner box is quite a bit less in France so I guess that it will come down in the UK in due course. Their appearance has prompted me to order an Oppo clone for here in France. Although one sighs at Universal's seemingly endless recycling of its catalogue, earlier Blu Ray re-masterings (Karajan's Beethoven and Strauss, Kubelik's Mahler. Kempff's Schubert etc etc) have produced good results. Fingers crossed for Bernie!

A post that prompted me to order the set, and very fine it is, indeed.

Hmm. Perhaps someone here without a Blu-ray player will be tempted by the new CD transfers and put the Blu-rays up for grabs.

The price for the Mahler may be similar to the UK price - if postage is taken into account - https://www.amazon.fr/Mahler-Symphon...Haitink+Mahler
