... £35 for four CDs certainly comes under my definition of "surprisingly expensive"! (Especially as BRILLIANT used to be the "go-to" label for very cheap, good quality CDsNumquam Satis!

The Europakonzert 2016 from Røros, Norway DVD arrived this week, and I've just watched/listened to the BPO and Rattle give a superbly involving performance of the 'Eroica' Symphony. A slightly smaller orchestra than usual fitted onto the smallish stage (in a church, with a lot of wood, however, and a good acoustic), and the closeness to the surrounding audience, may have something to do with the total effect. The players seem to be totally in the moment and in accord with their conductor, whose gestures, on this occasion, I did not find at any point off-putting.
Warmly received by Richard Osborne in the Gramophone, too.

Nevermind Richard Osborne from Gramophone, your opinion is good enough for me!
