New here and much enjoying the recommendations and comments. I listened to last weekend's Record Review and have purchased all 4 recommendations spotlit by pianist Andrew Matthews-Owen. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I agree with him and now hear the nightingale at the opening of the Dvorak Dumka which I hadn't thought about before. And, the Bacewicz is an exhilarating piece. Nice chat too, pretty in depth for snippets.

As pointed out by Wolfram in the Bruckner S4 thread, a 'spoiler' posting on the Record Review site (mentioning a programme on 6 April instead) gives the pointer to this edition (and the winner! Too late. Discs have arrived. The Polish music in particular is something I am very glad to have been encouraged to listen on last week's RR - Sondergard's Bacewicz is so rhythmic and the string playing from RSNO is outstanding. I missed today's RR but will enjoy on catch up tomorrow. I must listen to the new Durey track too - I have been meaning to explore more Les Six composers.
