Mendelssohn Piano Trio CD - order issues?

I saw a review of a Mendelssohn Piano Trio a few months ago, and ordered it from Amazon. The order seems to shift back in time every month.

It was supposed to be a new release I think - but maybe the CD is never going to happen. Pity - I quite liked the idea of that one.

Is it this release, which Presto now seem to think is a Presto CD, though they also mention Sony?
Might be worth giving them a call to see what's going on.

Mendelssohn Piano Trios. Sony: 19802832482. Buy Presto CD or download online. Joshua Bell (violin), Steven Isserlis (cello), Jeremy Denk (piano)

I can wait another month to see if Am.uk actually does deliver - but I suspect it won't. Maybe am.de would keep shifting the delivery date too.

If it doesn't come, then I could switch to Presto - I just wanted a CD - not a download. Or ... I could switch to Presto straight away.

Ruminating over this one. Do the Sony discs actually exist?

That's why I suggested ringing Presto to ask them why they were advertising it as a Presto CD.

There is another thread on this already started by pastoralguy - can they be merged ?

I was very much looking forward to the new cd of the Mendelssohn Piano Trios as played by Joshua Bell, Jeremy Denk and Steven Isserlis that’s due out on Friday and is on SONY. I’d pre-ordered it from PRESTO and have already listened to it on their download platform. However, I’ve just received an email from PRESTO saying that

Amazon US appear to have it in stock and will priority ship it to the UK as early as Mon-Wed next week if you throw enough money at them.

My order from Amazon said it would arrive by 11/1. I was sceptical after the news they had decided not to release it on CD in the UK .

Prompted by the BAL thread I looked up the order to find it has completely disappeared from my Amazon orders - CDs are apparently available in the US and Germany. The auto rip Mp3 to Amazon Music has also disappeared .

Anyone else had a similar issue.

It seems it was cancelled on 11/1 the day it was supposedly due . This reflects very poorly on Sony.

It’s streamable on Apple. I’m in Boston for a wedding so listening in the hotel with the phone speaker at very low level.
I already have a few versions of these works that I love as I imagine we all do. The Suk Trio, Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson, the Swiss Piano Trio on Audite, all 3 regular ensembles. I tend to prefer that to 3 superstars that come together for a one off, but these are 3 amazing players

Does anyone have a HIPP recording? I have the Benvenue Fortepiano Trio and see there is also a version by the admirable Tobias Koch which I'd like to hear.

Micky: Maybe add your comments to the (new) BaL thread?
