Same for me, martin. Wonder why it's of such low interest on these boards?

This box set contains the Kuijken Cosi. Also mentioned on the bargains thread. If you only want the Cosi there are are cheaper ways, as already noted above - msg 12.

Possibly the most boring contribution to this thread coming up: About 40 years ago I bought the classic Böhm in a stout LP box set and about 15 years ago I replaced it with the CD issue of the same recording. End of message.

It may well remain the benchmark, gurnemanz.

Which classic Böhm recording is that? The one I have, and think perhaps the best version available, is the old Decca recording with della Casa, Ludwig, Kunz, Dermota, Loose and Schöffler, with the VPO (and, like gurnemanz, I had the LP box set and replaced it with the CD version).

                Hurrah for boring!!!

I love Böhm, but just have the Philharmonia with Schwarzkopf, Ludwig, Kraus, Taddei, Berry, Steffek (1962).
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I don't quite know what it is "gurnemanz" but the Bohm on EMI has never fully convinced me. The voices are great - including Ludwig, Kraus and Taddei but the Philharmonia sounds so lacklustre. There are a whole host of Cosi's out there that will astonish you if you have only been listening to the Bohm. Am I in the vast minority here?

Thanks for the warm welcome verismissino. Any advice on which threads to go to first. I am used to the (quite poor by comparison) Gramophone forum.
