Bezuidenhout plays a copy of a beautifully singing Graf instrument with superb articulation. The orchestra has all the heft, but with added precision that the music demands, by turn bullish, playful; sarcastic, joyous. Anyone who thinks they don't like the instruments for which Beethoven composed his music should hear this recording!
