    Yes to cloughie.

I have Kertesz and Walter on LP and Rattle and Goodman on CD. Used to have OAE/Mackerras - the first recording at the restored Blackheath Concert Halls - but it went walkabout at some point.

Crumbs, the Tate performance in the Youtube link I posted segues seamlessly to a Blomstedt performance which is SO dull

Going back to the start of the Tate after that reinforces my opinion as to the delectable phrasing and pacing of his Dresden reading
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Boult, Krips (both favourites from LP days), Tennstedt/BPO, Goodman, Furtwängler, Bernstein + two Toscaninis - not yet mentioned - on the RCA box.

                          * Checked the box - three Toscaninis, including possibly the best - Philadelphia 1941.

Ah yes, Josef Krips! How's the sound of that recording?

It took me years of working with Americans before I understood that we often use 'quite' differently! American quite is nearer to 'very', whereas British quite is more usually 'fairly'.
