BaL 14.12.13 - Wagner's Parsifal

This is Stefan Herheim's Bayreuth production which was to have been preserved on DVD (a colleague had written liner notes, I believe) but ran into a dispute with the Wagner sisters, who pulled the plug on the project because, as I understand it, they refused to agree to some re-patching. I haven't seen the full production, which I knew was drifting around on Youtube somewhere, so am saddened it has now disappeared.

I didn't know that about the Wagner sisters........A real pity.

Thanks for the link. Hopefully some kind soul will put up the whole thing again. It is quite easy to grab these things with a firefox add-on, or so I am told.

Slarty, very many thanks for your wonderful response to my query regarding the 1964 Knappertsbusch recording. I'm very tempted indeed but have already grossly exceeded my 'gifts to self' quota for Christmas. Should any gift vouchers be coming my way this will be top of the list. Otherwise, will get it anyway.
