    I didn't know that about the Wagner sisters........A real pity.

    Thanks for the link. Hopefully some kind soul will put up the whole thing again. It is quite easy to grab these things with a firefox add-on, or so I am told.

      Slarty, very many thanks for your wonderful response to my query regarding the 1964 Knappertsbusch recording. I'm very tempted indeed but have already grossly exceeded my 'gifts to self' quota for Christmas. Should any gift vouchers be coming my way this will be top of the list. Otherwise, will get it anyway.
