List of recordings now moved to #8 to avoid confusion following merging of threads.Last edited by Eine Alpensinfonie; 30-06-13, 11:59.

This looks like it could be a classic tho' the list is impossibly long - I look forward to DON's analysis of the piece as much as to the choosing

In order of acquisition since 1972 I have Kempff (stereo DG), Arrau (1960s Philips), Bishop aka Kovacevich (Philips), Solomon (std EMI), Edith Vogel (BBC MM), Sodergren, Annie Fischer, Schnabel, Kempff (mono DG), Gould (1st recording) and Arrau (late Philips CD).
Probably time I got a decent one then??I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

There is a rather interesting disc (unfortunately, not currently in the catalogue) of, I think, Austrian Radio recordings of performances by Arrau, Backhaus and Badura-Skoda.
