Not sure which recording will win, and I'm dead against gambling, but Abbado's BPO gets my vote

    P.S. A Karajan gets my #2 vote.

I know it's rotten of me to mention it but I did enjoy Andrew's mention of the violinist Rachel Bodger just now

All set with a fresh cuppa in readiness for the Brahms Sweepstake

Well, no mention of Abbado yet, but Karajan fell at the first hurdle and Guilini at the second. Harnoncourt and Klemperer still in the running.

Me too, though it's late in the afternoon here. Exciting, isn't it?

Klemperer and Haitink neck and neck so far.

Wand fallen and on his way to the Tesco burger factory; overtaken by Jurowski - the bookies suddenly looking worried. But Haitink (changing mounts from Amsterdam to London: is that allowed?!) keeping his position.

We're on to the 2nd movement now and he didn't mention That First Movement Repeat once! ... Hahahaha!!! ... Or will he at the end I wonder?

Oh! I like the way Jurowski links the tempo of the second movement to the "Waltzy" feeling of the first.

Karajan lifted up only to be knocked down again. Still no mention of Abbado - so is this going to be one of those "Agatha Christie" BaLs where the whodiddit isn't introduced until the last chapter?

I am liking Jurowski, though - rather wish I'd put my pennies on him.
