Can anybody claim to have had all the versions of any work on BaL , as per EA's lists?
What I mean of course, is "has anybody got all the versions.....?" any fool can claim to !!I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

I can field the EMI NPO/Barbirolli and the Stockholm Horenstein on LP, plus the BPO/Barbirolli, the Szell and a Mackerras (BBC MM) on CD. Plus Bertini-in-a-box.
Am interested by am51's comment that Horenstein gets the tempi 'pretty near perfectly'. I bought that set after ecstatic reviews in the Gramophone (Derek Cooke?) but was pretty disappointed with it after getting to know the work via the NPO/Barbirolli. If B's 'heroic trudge' in the first mov't is wrong I still want more of it!
Other faster performances I've got used to since, so maybe I ought to give H another spin. I'm not usually wedded to 'the 1st recorded performance I ever bought' but M6 is definitely a big exception!I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!
