I sadly couldn't listen to the tragic Thomas Igloi's sound for more than a few seconds, for example.

I have the recording and also didn't much like the Igloi sound in the excerpt heard on the review. I went back and listened to the CD and found it to be perfectly OK. One reviewer refers to his "distinctively amber tones " which presumably had sounded off-putting surrounded by more mellow tones from other players.
