Yes that was a marked difference from the subjective waffle that too often dominates these chats of late. Rewarding and informative… I must admit that (even as a pianist of sorts) I struggle to hear the subtleties of the pedalling examples she pointed out. But it’s stimulating to have one’s ears stretched… I intend to listen again and try to pick these details out.

And like rfg, I’d never encountered the chosen performance despite being a fan of Gilels (in the sonatas, and generally).

One of the best BALs recently, as others have said.
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

So I am having trouble finding the Qobuz link for the "winner' the only one I found apparently has the first two movements only.

Listen to Emil Gilels in unlimited on Qobuz and buy the albums in Hi-Res 24-Bit for an unequalled sound quality. Subscription from £10.83/month

I see what you mean. Looks like you can buy it but not stream it.

Try searching for "Beethoven gilels ludwig 4" within the qobuz app.

Better still "Beethoven gilels ludwig" under "performer", again within the QOBUZ app.

Or "Complete EMI Recordings Emil Gilels" within "Release Name"

The one I found (searching for “Gilels Beethoven”) is this one:

          All movements present & playable:

From the entries visible, it looks as if searching “Leopold Ludwig” might give a more direct route to the result…

(I just confirmed that to be the case)

The Testament issue is also still available - good quality and reliability.

I think the Regis may be a out of copyright copy from LP!

I am in one of those economizing moods (temporary, I am sure) and not looking to buy anything at this point.
I did try searching Qobuz all the various ways suggested yesterday, and only came up with the two movement option, although the same artwork displayed. Maybe it’s a Qobuz-U.S. thing
