Well despite the nay-sayers above, I thought DON did a brilliant job, even if AM did need to interrupt him quite a bit to keep him inside the time limits! Further detailed study of Scriabin discs now required here...
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

I enjoyed his comments but his recommendation for a complete set is not actually complete - Gordon Fergus-Thompson 5 CDs. Was Maria Lettberg's widely praised 8CD survey on Capriccio not noticed, deliberately ignored or listened to and then rejected as not even worth mentioning?

How could he have done a brilliant job without mentioning Roberto Szidon?

To be fair to the DON, he did acknowledge that the Fergus-Thompson isn’t complete & pointed to Dmitri Alexeev on Brillant Classics as an absolutely complete set

Fair point but Alexeev is not actually listed as a recommendation on the programme's website.

Sorry, but I LOVE DON's enthusiasm, knowledge and presentation - and good to hear some nice words about Yuja for a change!

                    I’m with you.
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Who said anything bad about Yuja? Her Scriabin 10, to name only this, is fantastic in every way. Shame she isn't likely to record all of the sonatas. Oops, I already said that upthread.

As some of us have said on the BAL general discussion thread, we as music enthusiasts of many years' standing aren't the target audience of BAL. I can always think of a recording I prefer to those chosen by the programme.

There still seem to be a few musicians, reviewers etc who don't appear to rate her as a serious performer. And I think we know why!

Which is precisely why these crucial reviews should be PRE-recorded, solo reviewer in studio and then carefully EDITED.

Well, up to a point, Lord Copper! Would DON really sound so animated and enthusiastic reading his own carefully edited script?

And would the editing have included asking some pointed questions?
[Ahem, I do think there were some!]

But it might also stop AMcGod from interrupting and make DON edit himself? Yes, I do love DON's style, but...but....
                                Just a thought.
