I was only half-listening for the first 10 minutes or so, then paid fuller attention. Was any consideration given to the instrumental technology and playing techniques that Mozart would have been familiar with?

I rather enjoyed the clips from Trio Thibaud. Worth checking out, I reckon.

          Just heard excerpts/last few minutes....

I guess no mention of Trio Ricercar? It is an obscure recording, but better than L'Archibudelli (at least got an honourable look-in...) and a joint first for me with the Leopolds. I did admire the Zimmerman but would take the Hyperion first (bought on its release after the G. review), if only just, should I desire a modern-instrument refresher now....I'll compare them again though.

Will listen to the BaL again later.... but do seek out Trio Ricercar, on Qobuz or a 2ndhand CD, it is among the very best. See above etc.
Listen to unlimited or download Mozart: Divertimento in Es-Dur, KV. 563 by Trio Ricercar in Hi-Res quality on Qobuz. Subscription from £10.83/month.

The final summary opted for the Zimmerman recording partly on the grounds that it reflected HIPP practices.

In all the lists and discussions no mention has been made of the Trio Italiano d’Archi - I sought this out as I had a DG LP of it and found it on a Presto download from the Mozart 225 box - it is in the Legendary Chamber Performances box and the K563 on its own cost £5.22 for mp3 download - it is a beautiful performance!
