I was listening to in in the car, on the way home from the Parkrun, as usual.

    Informative comments throughout.

It came across as the nearest thing to an opera that Bach ever wrote.

Will listen to this when I have more time. I've always preferred the Peasant Cantata, often coupled with the Coffee.

An enjoyable listen. It looked like Suzuki from fairly early on. which seemed a good choice. I also liked Emma Kirkby for Hogwood.
Yes a good BAL. Simon Heighes doesn't do waffle! Whilst I think Caroline Sampson is a fabulous soprano, I must say that in this case I thought Emma's voice was more convincing as a petulant daughter! Whilst BCJ was impressive, as always, I'm surprised there was no adverse comment about the 'special effects'. Taking HIPP to a new level?

Just dug out my only recording, a Reflexe DMM LP by the Linde Consort and spun it on the good old Linn Sondek.

Didn't sound at all bad to me, and the LP pressing is of such fine quality that I'd be surprised if anyone walking in in the middle didn't think it was a CD!
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!
