Kubelik's VPO Ma Vlast is included in a forthcoming Eloquence box complete with original sleeve design
Thanks, Pet. I wonder if he recorded it twice with the Vienna Phil for Decca? I'm afraid I'm no expert in such matters, but 'mine' seemed to have been released in 1959, and another in 1967. Could it be the same recording recycled in a different cover?

The Ace of Diamonds SDD161-2 was the 1967 reissue, also on DPA 575-6 in the 70s and a couple of CD issues on Belart and Eloquence.

I have Kubelik’s 1971 account with the Bostonians.

I’m surprised Sir Charles Mackerras’s recordings didn’t get to the accolade, which I have, also, with the Czech’s.

Wasn't the 1990 Kubelik performance once available as a DVD? I know I recorded it on to a VHS videotape from a BBC broadcast but that bit the dust long ago.

I've looked around for the availability of the DVD but can find nothing apart from the youTube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76R0N2GN6Jo which will be wrecked by the intrusive adverts.

Is the DVD obtainable from anywhere?

Find many great new & used options and get the best deals for Smetana - Ma Vlast - Kubelik (DVD, 2008) (English\German\French\Spanish) at the best online prices at eBay! Free delivery for many products!

It's also on amazon.co.uk but you have to search without mention of Kubelik, just search for "Smetana Ma Vlast". However, the price is higher on Amazon than it is on eBay.

Unfortunately, that's not the 1990 Czech PO concert which is the one I'm looking for.

Amazon seem to suggest that the VPO /Kubelik performance was released on the Belart bargain label on CD and seems to be available for a song secondhand .

                        Did Norrington get a mention?

Yes, for being the only original instrument performance so far. Unavailable, 'interesting', but not top drawer as performance IIRC.
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

Thanks, lmp, haven't got round to catching up with it yet. It seems very available on Amazon!

Yes, but not a play, IIRC.

On that point, in #72 you may wish to replace IIRC with IIRI or IIRW
