This very old thread needs reviving, the broadcast having been postponed from May of this year. It's the same reviewer as before, but it's possible that the list of recordings is no longer accurate (if it ever was ).

Yes she did. Gingold and Bohm must have been the least likely performers ever of this work - but actually it was a very good performance.

This morning’s BaL must go in the record books as the longest ever postponement.

But then both CA and P&W have had some interestingly varied and unlikely narrators over the years!

What kind of ears/brain does this reviewer have? Some good points - but "not note perfect" - comments made about several very distinguished performers.

She hit the right notes for me . A humorous, amusing work.

Same winner as in the Gramophone collection in 2019.

I did feel I was listening to, at best, a sixth form general studies class or at worst, musical appreciation for 11-year-olds.
Very annoying too, that so often two movements were played consecutively and Andrew went back to discuss the first.

                    Good choice for 'winner' though.

The winner is an outstanding performance.

Another intriguing new take on it (and urgent related questions).........

Given that this is a repeat, why are they waiting until after broadcast to publish the winner on the web site?

Nice to see that this morning's Building a Library spot is celebrating BBC senior management

(OK, I know - that's an insult to animals.)

Today's BaL presenter seems to have pulled out before she even knew Lineker was going to say something controversial.
