I recall listening to my dads cassette tape of Ted Greenfield covering this symphony, must have been broadcast late seventies.
The then new Philharmonia/Ashkenazy won.
This was a favourite work in my youth, completely overdid it really. I’d like to hear Petrenko and revisit Jurowski.
The recent Tonhalle/Jarvi (P) is one of the most enjoyable to come my way in more recent times.
