        .

... of 'modern piano / big band' recordings, I have recently been enjoying the earlier Christian Zacharias recording, with the Hamburg Radio Symphony / Wand on EMI

I don't think that I've seen mention of Perahia: his is the only version I have (other than Curzon on a BBC MM CD).
Has he now gone out of fashion?

I currently have CDs featuring Brendel and Zimmermann, plus (on my TV hard drive) Perahia at the 2013 Proms.
Once saw him testing Steinways ( 3 of them ) for a Mozart Piano Concerto performance and thought it was one of the ugliest piano sounds I’d ever heard. Not his pianism - he has a wonderful sound - listening two thirds of the way back at the RFH to Mozart on a Steinway just doesn’t work. Also heard Murray Perahia at a Proms Mozart performance where the piano was pretty much inaudible - mind you I was in the rear stalls.

Not with me. Also out of fashion Geza Anda , Ashkenazy , Barenboim and Malcolm Bilson ??? Isn’t there an excellent Rubinstein perf of the C minor ? I think I’ve got that in cassette somewhere - also a wonderful Annie Fischer I recorded off Radio 3 ...
Solomon’s touch is wonderful in Mozart . I’d forgotten about the Saints - Saens cadenzas...

                .

... and I wouldn't want to be without the Hummel arrangement for piano, flute, violin, and cello -

                  .
Yes. It’s a very interesting alternative. There are several recordings, but I didn’t include them in the list.

Sadly there seems to be no K491 from Robert Levin / AAM / Hogwood.

... yes, it's really sad that that series was never completed - in the other concertos it's often Levin I look to first

A victim of the savage Decca axe, at the same time as they curtailed the admirable Hogwood/Haydn symphony cycle.

It is a very good performance however described.

Looking back I think the Mozart PCs I got to know first and best were probably in order 27,20,24 and 23. This was mid 60s before I had heard 21, and of course Elvira had introduced it the rest of the world.

Then later ripping us off by issuing both:

with nos. 76 and 77, recorded by Decca/Oiseau-Lyre but originally issued as a BBC Music Magazine cover disc, missing, and

which did, at least, include the Hogwood 76 and 77.

They didn’t rip me of - the former of the two illustrated cost £25 for 32cd box - and I already had the BBC MM 76/77!
