Don't often miss BaL but I hope packing to move house on Weds is sufficient excuse

Many thanks vints. Can't recall having anything except the two Melos Ens's. I hope these didn't fall at the first?
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

No; the Decca recording is an 'Also recommended’ (see message #32).
I think the reviewer said that the later EMI recording was nla, but I don't think that's the case, as Presto offer it as a download, though it's part of a big 'box' (I'm not sure what the download term for a box set is!).

An enjoyable BAL, and I felt the ensemble from the Berlin Phil (based on what we heard) certainly deserved the recommendation. Excellent balance and the mood of the piece captured beautifully IMHO. I'm also glad Jeremy Sams gave us a quick explanation of the Erard harp, for which it was written.

                      I don’t think I have this one.

Doesn’t seem to very available! An interesting looking CD but is it £16.44 interesting?

Same, Alison - a lot of Ravel is as close to my heart as anything, but this piece has always left me cold.

I’ve added the recommended recording to my Qobuz favourites for a listen, plus the rest of the disc is enticing

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
