I really love the later Gould recording that many critics dismiss as too self-indulgent.

For those of you with the Egarr version [and possibly others I'm not aware of] what do you think of the ideas about tuning? There is much speculation in the literature about the twirly decoration on the frontispiece of the 48.
There's the question of repeats as well of course. Gould's 1959 live version took about 37 mins [!!] whereas most "full" versions are in the 70s. Longest I have is Tureck in 1978 at 83 mins. Hatto's [supposedly 1990] doesn't come close to any of the ones I have except perhaps Gould in his controversial 1981 version [55 mins] but then she could be edited!! It would seem that those fraudulent issues of hers were verbatim which is why they got found out.
