Manner not matter was the basis of my bristling.
And I just felt she signalled the Frang choice pretty early on - like almost from the off.

        Why not?
Perhaps a Duel can be arranged?

I'm in the Underthecountertenor lobby, admiring KM' s wonderful ability to translate her feelings and observations into lively prose enriched with imaginative similes. She has self-confidence and is unprejudiced by "received wisdom".

Tom Service later told us that Classical CD sales grew last year. I sustain that trend ... by ordering the Frang.

Then we heard the downside in the news that followed the programme, 1 in 10 'classical' streamings were of Einaudi.

            I agree - but didn't mind that.

Frang; didn't quite hit the mark for me. Something about the 'orchestral' that sounded a little 'unProkofian'. Too delicate perhaps, soft-focus.....

                Ferney, yes!

How come the Frank Peter Zimmermann not in bold type? The reviewer liked that one for the modern versions?

Ah thanks Ferney, just reading that post has got something out of my system.

I think that that was her "runner-up", Bbm - the Frang was the one that got the laurels.

I thought in her summing up that we were going to have joint winners, but she did indeed ultimately plump for Frang.

                        LUDOVICO EINAUDI

Pronounced Ey-no-dee. Origin: Possibly, a contraction of I [have] no ideas.

His forename, Ludovico, reminds one of the unintended consequences of the Ludovico Technique in Clockwork Orange :

                          Einaudi.

With his royalties, shouldn't it now be "Zweiporschen"?

Absolutely, and my wotsit gets completely turned off by KM, I just can’t listen to her, I’m afraid. Gave it a try but lasted only a few minutes
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                            Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

What artists though. Frang and Sondergard!

Any comment on the recent Petrova/Odense/Poska? I loved that one, though I haven't listened to many others recently, and the c/w Nielsen was an influence of course........
