Nor are they mentioned on Amazon - in fact, it's only by playing the MP3 extracts that I could find out they took part!

I think Auntie must be mixing Igor up with Francis (Poulenc), whose own not-dissimilar Mass followed soon after the renewal of his faith. It's certainly a very odd comment to make about a life-long Russian Orthodox Christian, for whom this Mass was only a departure, in so far as it was his first setting of the Catholic-Anglican liturgy.

I struggle with Stravinsky's choral music so I think I shall be giving this one a miss.

I can quite understand your not wanting to hear this Barbs, but even if only from curiosity, do give the Mass a try. Personally, I think it's a terrific piece. (I first sang it as a student too, like pastoralguy.) It doesn't try too hard to express anything...almost as if the words of the Mass are a peg to hang the notes on. And the harmonic language is by no means extreme. Jeremy Summerly is a great reviewer, and this should be a classic BAL...hope so anyway. No pressure, Jeremy.

Thanks for simplifying by taking out the soloist details (probably from other works on the CDs).
Some of these are download only though, and others only as Presto's own CDs, according to their site.
There's a download only Stravinsky one with 'Double Wind Quintet, Chorus of Men and Boys, Warren Fowley, Igor Stravinsky' on the Sinetone label, released 28 March 2017. No idea where it hails from!

It's the composer's recording from 1949/50, Pulcie - Warren Foley (sic) was the choirmaster.

Definitely not "download only". It is in the most recent Sony big Stravinsky box, along with the other two mentioned. I already had it in the ANDaNTE triple CD set (Vol. 3, disc 3).

It looks as if the "2017" date - together with the misspelling of Foley's name - originates in a Russian MP3 version of the recording, and a "back transliteration" from the Cyrillic version of Mr Foley's name.

It also looks from the link I gave in #24 as if the recording of the Mass was originally re-released on a seven-inch 33.3 rpm "single"; RCA's short-lived "answer" to Columbia's (et al) twelve-inch LP.
