Added to which, I remember enjoying the Motets immensely. I don't think I will ever find them, though.... but they are there somewhere on the shelves....
Or the Beethoven Mass in C, mentioned in post #2?

Thank you for the unexpected, but very welcome help! which enabled me to find the missing Motets - which was "tagged" on to the Beethoven Mass - a Belart incarnation of the Decca recording.

I listened to them (this recording) last night.
I'd forgotten that they were accompanied.

Has there ever been a more boring sequence of BALs than this autumn's works . Meanwhile Beethoven piano concertos continue to be ignored .

Well, it is only a matter of opinion. Personally, I'm very fond of the following weekend's offering (but MrGongGong definitely isn't ) .

I disagree - Bruckner Motets, Brahms S4tet #3, Shostakovich #11, La Stravaganza, Dowland, Handel Op3, Wesendonck Lieder, Purcell, Mozart's Horn 5tet: it's been a terrific run of repertoire (even if some of the reviewers weren't always up to the mark). Only Oklahoma and Il Tabarro have been dull pieces as far as I'm concerned - and I was grateful for the "morning off".

Are we still in "Autumn" by then?

It depends on your idea of when seasons change.

                    And Climate change?

(I'd've said Winter: Dec, Jan, Feb; Spring: Mar, Apr, May; Summer: June, July, Aug; Autumn: Sept, Oct, Nov.)

... these are the meteorological seasons, and I agree

We often talk about it beginning to feel like autumn when the nights start to draw in and temperatures start feeling cooler.

That's the way I think of it, but many people measure from Solstice to Equinox, etc.

EDIT: I see vints has beaten me to it.

Strayed a long way from Bruckner's motets but I'm with Sir Velo on this one.

Sounds like it be a good idea to have a session of listening to Bruckner's choral music.

So on your trip to Cambridge, are you expecting the choir to sing "In the bleak start of winter"? <butterwouldn'tmeltemoticon>
