I forgot to mention that I have Trevor Pinnock's recording of these concerti. So I hope ASMF/Sir Neville and Trevor Pinnock are up there.

Wouldn't you prefer it if a recording you didn't already have received the highest recommendation? Then you have something to look forward to.

For me there were no surprises in this programme. But I'm always a bit surprised at how op.4 is so much more standardised in form and texture (that is to say so much less "extravagant"!) than op.3, even if it contains quite a few beautiful things. This was a great disappointment to me when I first heard it (which would have been when the ASMF recording was first released).

Indeed you are right, RB. It would be very good if that did happen. I would have to buy it then! I couldn't stay for the whole BaL, as I had go to a jamming session, which was very good indeed.

Another great BaL. Lots of different but enjoyable approaches. I'm still with Fabio Biondi though. An unexpected benefit of streaming is that if you are not crazy about the recommendation, you can listen without buying.

... Biondi is great. But as has been pointed out, he only recorded some - 1, 2, 4, 9, 11 - of the twelve concerti in op 4. I really hope he might do a complete set.

Yes, I know he doesn't all the concertos, I have the CD - but it doesn't worry me that some are missing. I also hope he completes the lot
